United Nations Office on Sport for Development & Peace Youth Leadership Programme

Would you like to be one of 4 youth leaders to represent CSDA at the United Nations of on Sport for Development and Peace, Youth Leadership Program June 7-19, Florida USA?
 
CSDA is looking to identify 4 youth leaders from among the many vibrant youth organizations in the region and you can be one of those who can attend the UNOSDP, YLP 2015.  Note that each club/organization can nominate 1 male and 1 female representative but not more than 1 person per club will be selected to represent CSDA.
 
In addition to the criteria below successful applicants with the support of their clubs will be required to plan and execute a sport for development initiative in celebration of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, April 6th 2015.
 
PARTICIPANT CRITERIA
 
• Candidates should be from the age of 18-25 and from a disadvantaged communities and/or backgrounds.
 
• Candidates should be currently volunteering or working in the sport for development field and involved with community programmes. 
 
• Candidates should have a leadership role within their sport for development organization. 
 
• Since one of the objectives of the camp is to share best practices and experiences from the field, we are looking for young people with great social skills who would be ready to present and share their work in public.
 
• Most importantly we are looking for candidates who are motivated and dedicated to work in the field of sport for development and peace, bringing innovative ideas into their programmes and to this field. 
 
• There is strength in diversity and therefore we encourage persons with disabilities, people from different cultural backgrounds, with different experiences to come together to teach each other and to learn from one another. 
 
Please note that UNOSDP will cover the costs of the participants from the flight tickets to and from their city of departure and all costs during the camp (accommodation, food, daily allowance, insurance). The only cost UNOSDP will not cover is the cost of getting to and from the airport in the participants home country and the costs related to the visa process.
